About the Rubber Tree

A sculptural classic, Rubber Trees are a sturdy and glossy plant. Creating a stunning silhouette, that resembles a piece of art. Gaining popularity in the 70s, these beauties are a retro statement piece.

From the Ficus genus, they are Native to India, Nepal & Indonesia where they can reach several meters in height.

They’re an easy-going specimen and can tolerate moderate lighting, the worst thing you could do is over-water it. A true vintage addition to your plant collection.

Your Ficus Elastica currently lives in a 14cm diameter nursery pot.

They're 60cm in height from pot base to leaf tip and can reach several meters in height.

Whilst we maintain the best standard possible, plants can vary slightly from the photograph from season to season.

Care Guide

Rubber Trees thrive best in a bright, well-lit space but can also tolerate moderate light. Avoid direct sunlight as this can scorch their leaves.

Balance is best when it comes to watering the Ficus Elastica. Water when the soil begins to feel dry, but ensure the soil does not become soggy. Soil is best kept moist, but not drenched.

The leaves may droop if over-watered or under-watered. Keep the leaves clean by wiping them with a damp cloth every now and then, so they easily can absorb light. We advise feeding this plant with fertilizer once a month during the summer growing period.

These plants are considered to be toxic if ingested so it is best to keep them out of reach of curious children and pets.

Your Ficus Elastica - Rubber Tree can reach heights of several meters tall with time and appropriate care.
