About the Parlour Palm

Parlour Palms are one of the most popular houseplants worldwide. Its easy maintenance and elegant appearance help us understand why.

Its dainty, long fronds and light green appearance brighten up any space. They gained popularity in Victorian times, being displayed in the Parlour room alongside other finery.

Native to the rainforests of Southern Mexico and Guatemala, they are a species of small Palm tree.

An excellent beginner plant, as they are very tolerable. Parlour Palms are a true vintage gem.

Your Chamaedorea Elegans currently lives in a 24cm diameter nursery pot and is 90cm from pot base to leaf tip.

Whilst we maintain the best standard possible, plants can vary slightly from the photograph from season to season.

Care Guide

They require a bright, well-lit space but can tolerate moderate light conditions also. Just be sure to avoid harsh direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

Water when the soil starts to feel dry, but avoid overwatering. Soil is best kept moist, not drenched. Occasional misting will also benefit this plant.

A slow-growing plant but it can reach 150cm in height. We advise feeding this plant with fertilizer occasionally during the summer growing period, but not during the winter.

Parlour Palms are considered to be non-toxic to humans and pets and are part of our Child & Pet Friendly Collection.

With time your Chamaedorea Elegans - Parlour Palm can reach a height of 100-150cm.
