Calathea Orbifolia are a stunning, sculptural plant, with large ornamental foliage reminiscent of a fan. The leaves have pale streaks draped across them in perfect synchronicity.
Native to Bolivia, Calathea Orbifoila are from the family Marantaceae, or Prayer Plants. They grow in warm, tropical environments and shady canopies, therefore prefer bright but indirect light.
Like all Prayer Plants, this plant prefers distilled or rainwater. Browning can occur on the leaves with regular use of tap water that is high in chemicals. Try collecting rainwater, it will love it.
Requires plenty of bright but indirect light. Close to a bright window space is best.
Water little and often. They prefer damp soil, but don’t enjoy being overwatered, so balance is needed.
Your Calathea Orbifolia currently lives in a (14cm diameter, 13cm height) nursery pot.
They're 30cm in height (Pot base to leaf tip).
Calathea Orbifolia can reach up to 100cm in height.
