Forgiving fronds - Birds Nest Fern are a vibrant, glossy plant that is very easily maintained. They’re happy in a medium-light environment, ideal for shadier spots in your home.
With their elongated fronds sprouting out the centre point, this plant exudes an earthy, forest feeling. This plant’s decorative appearance makes it a favourite here at Clay, not to mention it's forgiving nature in terms of maintenance and care.
Native to the tropical forests of Asia, this fern can also be found in Northern America. They are epiphytic, which means they like to grow on the surface of something, like a tree or a larger plant.
This plant prefers moderate light to bright light. It can handle some low lighting. Direct sunlight may harm it’s leaves.
Water little and often. This plant doesn't like to dry out too much. Keep the soil moist with warm water. Placing this plant in a shower room can be beneficial as it loves a warm, humid environment.
Bird’s Nest Fern love high humidity, and damp conditions so misting regularly is advised. Try to keep them away from dry areas like radiators and stoves. Try to water this plant around the centre and not directly in the centre. ( This will encourage its roots to spread out)
